Very friendly staff, great location for the function we were attending, breakfast very good, room very comfortable
expensive for over night stay
Amazing location, lovely big room, dining room and lounge. Good food.
Bathroom could have been more luxurious. Bedside lights not good for reading.
Beautiful Scenic location, a get away from it all hotel, relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Could have done without the piano player in the restaurant on the Friday evening
The management made effort to make everyone feel at home
The location is so beautuful - the hotel is comfortable without feeling pretentious and the staff are professional and welcoming. Because of the lovely weather, our individual patio area was well used. The food is exceptional - very well presented and a good choice at all times. Although we did not take a dog, it is pleasing to see how guests with dogs are made so welcome - there were no problems from the many dogs staying whilst we were there - can't say that about many hotels who don't allow dogs, - but do allow children!! Would certainly return for a relaxing holiday.
Appreciated not having 'plastic milk' on the hospitality tray, but remembering to ask for fresh milk became a bit of a nuisance - such a minor irritation though. Perhaps small fridges in rooms would be a good idea - or milk to be available in the coffee shop at any time for residents - thus avoiding having to ask staff at busy/inconvenient times.
So near the sea, wonderful walks and peaceful.
Quiet and very comfortable. Staff did everything that they could to make the stay enjoyable. Beautiful surroundings but rather isolated if one wants to shop etc. Excellent room with all facilities needed and even a pool outside the room.
Location and quality of hotel fantastic. Breakfast excellent.
Resturant menu limited in evening.
Great location and peacful surroundings. A nice room with comfortable bed. Great cove and lots of nature within a few minutes walk
It has an upper middle price bracket close to a couple of very nice local modern boutique, however the hotel expereince overall does not match up to that type of hotel. Their restarant is also at the pricier end of the local market but ambience is stifled by a sense of sedate formaility and ther is no competition within at least 3 miles which left us feeling potentially exploited and so we opted not to try it. Added to this we were politely requested and then shortly after reminded that we needed to inform reception if we were not planning to dine in! Unfortunatley some of the facilities and equipment are old and tired (games room for example) and there is no mobile phone reception. Staff wise, they are polite but on Wednesday a gardener came to clear out the pool in front of our bedroom window while we were in bed with the curtains open. This was at 8.00 am. And while not straing in at us, he made no attempt to be discrete either. We couldn't get out of bed (!) in front of him to close the curtains and had to wiat while he completed a part of his procedure and walked off to fetch some equipment. The place is nice but its not wildly welcoming for the price and the concept seems to need a rethink. I made this booking last minute but I slightly regret booking it over the internet as I would have tried to haggle the price if I had realised the hotel was only at 30% occupancy especially if I had seen the facliites first hand.
The location of the hotel is its best feature, the views over the surrounding landscape and access to the coastal path.
There are elements of the hotel which are tired and in need of updating to bring into the price range asked by the hotel. Also the shell of the hotel means that the walls are very thin and this makes for uncomfortable relaxation when you can hear your neighbours.
Very poor service. Restaurant staff poorly trained if at all. Meal expensive and so poorly prepared I should have sent it back. Front office staff abrupt and arrogant.
The food was excellent and the access to the outside via the sliding doors also suited us.We came for the sea and even though my wife could not walk to the cove it was still in a perfect postion.
We did not like the road acess to the hotel. It was very narrow and dangerous in parts.
The location was very secluded and hotel staff very helpful.
The sauna wasn't working and the patio furniture hadn't been cleaned for a while!
Staff that really cared about their guests and either anticipated in advance what you would need/want, or responded instantly when asked. The location is superb if you want peace and quiet and instant access to beautiful countryside.
